CN 2018 Progress Report

Posted on Friday December 13, 2019

In 2018, CN prepared a Progress Report summarizing the investigation and monitoring activities completed to address remaining environmental impacts at the site including analytical testing of the surface water and groundwater and monitoring of the restored features. CN also prepared two additional reports related to the sediment monitoring and rail bed activities. The Ecological Assessment Report was prepared to summarize the work completed to evaluate the sediment quality (i.e., detected oil-related chemicals in the sediment) and the organisms living in the sediment, to track the recovery of the Makami River. The LNAPL Site Characterization Report was prepared to summarize the work completed to remediate and manage the remaining oil contained within the rail bed, beneath the tracks.  The key findings from the Ecological Assessment and the LNAPL Site Characterization reports are included in the 2018 Progress Report.
